Driving Sustainability at Legacy Hotels

Since partnering with Greenzone in 2022, Legacy Hotels has transformed waste management across its 16 sites. With over 260 active waste services, we focused on increasing recycling rates, reducing general waste, and embedding sustainable practices into daily operations.

Key initiatives included:

• Enhanced waste segregation in catering and housekeeping
• Optimised bin configurations and improved signage
• Upgraded guest room waste management with bin inlays and advice cards
• Staff education and training on best practices

Achievements & Impact

Through comprehensive site audits, tailored support, and leadership engagement, we achieved measurable results:

• Increase in recycling rates (2024 vs. 2023)
• Reduction in general waste
• Zero Waste to Landfill commitment upheld

In preparation for the Simpler Recycling legislation (March 2025), Greenzone has supported us with site-specific audits, awareness materials, and compliance strategies, ensuring a smooth transition ahead of the deadline. Additionally, our work aligns with Green Key, a global eco-certification for sustainable hotels, further reinforcing our commitment to responsible hospitality.
