There’s more to McDonald’s than the famous Big Mac® – the brand is committed to finding innovative ways to be more sustainable.

Whether it’s by turning waste into energy and fuel, or through its dedication to recycling, the brand is serious about a more sustainable future.

Did you know McDonald’s uses old cooking oil to power its deliveries? McDonald’s collects used oil from its kitchens and turns this into enough biodiesel to fuel more than half of their delivery fleet.

McDonald’s is also serious about recycling and have set themselves the target of sending zero waste to landfill by 2020.

You’ll be pleased to hear the brand have been working to make recycling easier over the past four years, and since 2015 have installed over 1,100 new recycling units, meaning its easier to separate your plastics and cups for recycling in 85% of its restaurants.

McDonald’s has also promised to remove plastic straws from each of their 1,300 restaurants by the end of 2019.
